The Freedom of Information Act 2000 came into force on 1 January 2005. Under the Act, anybody may request information from a public authority which has functions in England, Wales and/or Northern Ireland. The Act gives applicants two statutory rights:
- To be told whether or not the public authority hold that information; and if so,
- To have that information communicated to them
Although the Surrey Safety Camera Partnership does not qualify as a public authority, its member partners do. Therefore, in the interests of openness, the Partnership will act as much as possible like a public body in relation to the Act. Although the information requested could be held by any one or more of the Partner organisations, all FOI requests will be logged with the County Council (the lead partner organisation).
The Partnership's intention is to make available as much public interest information as possible via this website. A number of items of information that are frequently requested using the FOI act can be downloaded via the page link to the left. Our FOI Publication Scheme, which details what information we held and how it can be accessed, can be found at the bottom of this page.
